The red fox is active durring all seasons and breeds from late December until the end of March. Most Mating takes place in January and February. Both sexes are mature at 10 months.(1) Red foxes are monogames and have more than one mate per season. They are well known for remaining pairs for several years espesially in places where Red foxes are sparse.(2)

Dovelopment
Copulation is acompanied by a copulation tie wich may last for hours. Male sperm formation begins in August-September with the testies gaining their greatest weight by December- February 52 days in the womb, life expectancy is 3 years but some lived up to 12 years. They produce 4-6 offspings some cases have been. 13-15 days after the kits are born they open their eyes for the first time. 3-4 days later the lower teeth begin to emerge. their eye color changes to amber brown at 4-5 weeks old. Their wool coat changes at 8 weeks. At 3-4 months the kits are now long legged. They reach adut proportion size at 6-7 months. they mature at 9-10 months and they start to begin their first liter of pups at 1 year of age. (4)
